Recording Archive
Over the past several years, Choral Canada staff and the National Youth Choir of Canada Committee have been working to prepare an extensive digital archive of past NYCC recordings. We are thrilled to be able to provide this incredible resource of music sung by Canadian youth dating back to 1986. In the archive below you will find a sampling of pieces from each of the NYCC choirs over the past 35+ years.
We hope that you enjoy the wonderful work of the hundreds of singers and many artistic staff and musicians who came together to perform these pieces across the country. The NYCC has had a residency in each Canadian province, and in 2022 will be performing in Ontario. Watch for those recordings to be added this summer!
A profound THANK YOU to Dr. Leonard Ratzlaff for heading up this project and dedicating many volunteer hours collaborating with past conductors as they selected pieces and obtained permissions to share these recordings. We also owe our great thanks to Ron Yachimec and Jochen Eggert, both of Edmonton, for their audio recording expertise. Special thanks to Jochen who has worked diligently to prepare and format the tracks for the archive and to Deirdre Kellerman who volunteered her time uploading many tracks to Soundcloud.
Highlights from the 1988, 1990 and 1992 editions of the NYCC are also available on CD from Choral Canada at a cost of $18 per CD (postage and handling included). Please email [email protected] for more information.

2026
The 2026 NYCC rehearsal and training residency was held at Simon Fraser University in Burnaby, BC. The tour from May 8 - 16, 2026 included performances in Burnaby, Abbotsford, Courtenay, Parksville, and Duncan, before travelling to Victoria where they performed at PODIUM 2026, Choral Canada’s national choral conference and festival.

2024
The 2024 NYCC rehearsal and training residency was held at Université Laval in Québec City, QC. The tour from May 10 - 16, 2026 included performances in Les Bergeronnes, Saguenay, and Rimouski, before travelling to Montreal where they performed at PODIUM 2024, Choral Canada’s national choral conference and festival.
