The National Youth Choir of Canada (NYCC) is a project of Choral Canada and is Canada’s finest youth choir. It is a one-of-a-kind professional development opportunity for some of Canada’s best emerging choral singers aged 19-26. The 2022 NYCC will be conducted by Dr. Jean-Sébastien Vallée, assisted by Apprentice Conductor Thomas Burton.
Who can audition?
People in Canada between the ages of 19-26 are eligible to audition for the NYCC.
When are auditions?
Auditions for the 2022 NYCC open on September 10, 2021 and close on October 15, 2021.
How do I audition?
Auditions are by recording only and submitted online. Full details of audition requirements and program details will be posted here soon.
Unfortunately, due to the COVID-19 pandemic, the 2020 NYCC was not able to take place as planned. Choral Canada has therefore extended an invitation to all 2020 singers to participate in the 2022 choir if they wish. Auditions will be held to complete the choir and create a pool of alternate singers to fill any spaces vacated by 2020 choristers.
